What is the best diffuser?

Hey everyone - what's the best diffuser you've found? I want my home to smell calm and inviting, especially when my husband and kids come home stressed from work or school ... and need to wind down for the night. There are so many different types of diffusers out there and they can be pretty pricey so I want to make sure I'm getting the best one. Any suggestions?Read more

The Yolife diffuser is my absolute favorite! I'm a big fan of essential oils, and this diffuser just spreads that gentle fragrance throughout the house—way better than any other one I've tried. It's so calming, I almost feel like I'm at a spa all the time. Spray air fresheners tend to make me my throat itch, but with an essential oil diffuser I can just breathe easy. It has a lovely look with a forest art design and 7 colors it cycles through. It's also got 2 brightness levels and 4 different time settings to choose from. I like to have it on the 15-seconds-on, 15-seconds-off mode, so it can run for 12 hours straight through the night. It automatically shuts off once the water's empty, which is helpful so it doesn't overheat if I'm being forgetful. It's larger size and cleaning brush make cleaning it a breeze. And it still works as a regular humidifier, even when you run out of essential oil. We live in a dry area, so that's been nice for my family's tendency to dry skin and congestion in the winter months. I highly recommend it!

Yolife diffuser has my vote. Probably my favorite thing about it, besides the nice mood it adds to the house, is the remote control. I can adjust the light or time setting from my bed at night without having to get up! So nice. I feel like my sleep has been a lot more restful since we got this, too. It's quiet, so it doesn't bother me through the night, and of course the smell and moisture in the air help me relax.

Our Yolife diffuser has been the perfect solution to covering the smell in our home. My husband smokes, and we've tried so many things to get rid of the smell. This replaces it with a nice, soothing scent, without being overwhelming. It makes a great piece of decor, too!

I really like the ASAKUKI diffuser. It's roomy, has 7 colors, and gives a nice scent to the living room. It doesn't really spread to other rooms in the house, but that's okay. We ... mainly just want to get rid of the dog smell in our front room for when people come to visit.Read more

I'm a fan of Asakuki's diffuser. It's nice and relaxing for nighttimes. Although, I should add, it's not completely quiet, as advertised. There's a motor sound and water dripping ... sound that continue all night long. I started playing a white noise machine to cover it up, and that seems to work just fine. Read more

@Lenox Augustine, have you noticed that if you leave the timer on at night—even with the light switched off—there is a faint green light? It's dim, but still annoying when I'm trying to sleep.

InnoGear has a smart diffuser that's been kind of fun for us. It's nice to be able to use Alexa to control it, or even turn it on or off with my phone when I'm away. I will say the ... manual controls have been tricky to figure out and remember. There's only a few buttons, and you have to press it a particular way to get different functions to work. We usually just end up controlling it digitally. Read more

Our InnoGear diffuser works well enough. Although the "smart" part doesn't work unless your Wi-Fi isn't private—so if you have to type in a password to connect, this device ... won't be compatible with your network (which I would guess would be most households). So we just use ours manually, though we have to keep the instructions close by to get it to work right. Read more

The InnoGear has a cute look, and I like setting it to a schedule, so it turns on a bit before I come home from work for a while, then again right before bedtime, and off ... in the morning. Be careful opening it, though—it takes a bit of finesse to do it just right and not make a mess everywhere. Read more

I wanted something space-saving for my office desk, so I got the VicTsing mini diffuser. It makes it a nice little accent to my work area. However, be careful where you place it. It... puts out a lot of mist, and it doesn't shoot very high—it's rather low and drips down the side. So my wooden desk and some important documents got damaged. Once I moved the diffuser to the window sill, I haven't had those issues anymore. Read more

I use the little VicTsing diffuser to help me sleep at night. It makes no noise whatsoever, so it's great for sleeping. But be aware, there is no way to lock or secure the lid. My ... 2-year-old son tried to pick it up, and instead just picked up the lid and everything spilled and made a huge mess. If you have small children or anyone clumsy in your household, I'd advise placing this out of reach. Read more

Zodax has an elegant-looking little porcelain diffuser. It's a nice accent for decor, but it really doesn't emit much smell at all. I have to put my nose right up to it to smell anything.

The Zodax diffuser has a lovely, but weak scent. I might try a bigger diffuser for more fragrance and humidifier benefits. I would also be concerned about this getting tipped ... over and broken easily, due to its porcelain and glass construction. Read more

My husband gave me the Anzazo diffuser necklace and bracelet. It is a nice jewelry set and thoughtful gift, but just maybe okay as a diffuser. The scent is just for one person to ... really enjoy—not an entire household. It's nice that you don't need water or electricity, but then again, that's probably the reason it doesn't have the same great effects as a conventional diffuser. Read more

@Alexa Schmid, I was considering buying this as a gift for my wife, but now I'm reconsidering. The felt pads it comes with—how long do they last? Do you somehow ... clean them out after use, or just keep using them? Read more

@Sabas Cory, after several months, they start to fade. Their abilities to give off a scent diminish, and I don't know of any way to clean them out. It helps that there are ... 10 of them, so you can rotate through to make them last a bit longer, but sooner or later, they'll all get hard and discolored and won't smell or look pretty. Read more
